How long have you been coming to Lift?
About four years ago I did a catering apprenticeship in the kitchen - I was referred by what was then called Connextions. During the year of the apprenticeship I didn’t go to any of the youth facilities as I was too tired by the end of my shift, but since I finished I have been a regular user and have also done some paid shifts as a Meeter and Greeter.

What do you do?
Mainly the youth sessions but also boxing, the gym, archery and I have helped deliver the cooking sessions. I have also helped with filming event nights and taking photos. Dillon taught me to use a camera and edit in Adobe Premier Pro and I have since gone on to buy my own camera and work on filming projects both here and outside.

How has Lift helped you?
If I need any help with anything I just come here and Dillon or Judith will always be there.

What is the most important thing you have learnt?
I have just gained so many skills and experiences since I have been here that have led to job opportunities and just widening my horizons. I would never have ending up going to college to study patisserie if I hadn't been here first.

What is the most fun you have ever had?
It is always fun. And making friends. It is always a good environment and a good laugh.

What would you say to a young person that has never been here before?
Just come on down. I will probably be here!

What are your current goals?
I am now into writing scripts and developing my filming skills. I am also doing sports coaching including archery and hope to do boxing.
