Information for parents, carers and guardians
Open access
The Lift youth programme is open access and young people can come and go as they please.
We ask that all children and young people using the centre fill in a registration form which can be done on the first visit. For children aged 12 years old this needs to be completed by a parent. Young people aged 13+ can complete one for themselves.
Illness or emergency
If a young person is not feeling well for any reason, or recently tested positive for coronavirus they should not attend.
In the case of a personal emergency we will endeavour to make contact with the nominated emergency contact on the registation form. There are qualified first aiders on duty.
If the building has to close for any reason, young people will be expected to make their own arrangements to get home. Use of a mobile phone will be provided on request.
Safeguarding
All our staff are DBS checked on a regular basis. Youth workers also attend training provided by the Islington Safeguarding Children Partnership. Our Designated Safeguarding Person is Judith Samuel who can be contacted on 07825 098689 or emailed at judith.samuel@isledon.co.uk
Support for Parents
We know that being a parent is not always easy and that all families need extra support at some stage. We are at hand to provide advice and programmes that can bring about positive change for families and young people. Typical issues that we can gelp with include improving school attendance, reducing risky behaviour and increasing aspirations.
Parents can use one of the services below to meet with a youth worker or you can contact us.
